PEST CONTROL

Picture
As the days heat up, so do the breeding of fleas, ticks and spiders. While pests breed all year long, the warmer weather causes a major population boom.  It is important to protect your pets as well as your family from these little pests.

The Greener Side Lawn Care will treat the entire lawn area and outside perimeter of your home to help control these critters with an initial treatment followed up with a second treatment within  10 -20 days to kill any newly hatched eggs.  This two-step program comes with a six week guarantee.

For more aggressive treatment we also offer a five step program applied every 6 weeks.

GRUB PREVENTION

Grub worms are the larvae of the June beetle.  They can create serious damage to your turf if left untreated.  Grubs are most destructive during the mid to late summer and into the fall.  If you have grubs you will notice uneven patches of grass that are brown or grayish in color, that will typically peel back when pulling on grass.

The Greener Side treats for grub worms in mid-May through early July. The timing of treatment is critical as the larvae will be closest to the surface allowing the one-time treatment to be most effective.

CORE AERATION

When we aerate your lawn, we use a machine that makes holes that are about 1 inch in diameter and at least 2 inches deep in the surface of your lawn.  This increases oxygen and moisture penetration and reduces soil compaction.

Lawn aeration benefits the lawn by enabling air, water, and nutrients direct access to the root system.  This promotes deeper root growth.

Many lawns in Oklahoma would benefit from one aeration every one to two years to improve the movement of air and water into the root zone.
What are the benefits of aeration?
  • Improve drainage & reduce runoff
  • Reducing soil compaction
  • Controlling thatch development
  • Allowing water, air, and nutrients direct access to the root system
  • Helps lawns recover from quicker from grub damage and spring dead spot

 MOLE CRICKETS

Most common to Oklahoma is the Southern Mole Cricket.  They burrow in your yard and tunnel underneath your turf leaving small piles of dirt around your yard as they feed on the roots of your grass.

The Greener Side Lawn Care treats for Mole Crickets in mid to late July when they are at their peek of feeding.
